About this talk

The Provincial Public Library Network ensures that there is equitability in public library resources and services throughout Alberta. The Provincial Public Library Network is managed by Public Library Services Branch, Municipal Affairs and supports services with approximately $4 million of government funding each year. Key network initiatives include: e-resources (such as audiobooks and ebooks), services to patrons with print disabilities through NNELS and CELA, and SuperNet connectivity for public library locations. The Provincial Public Library Network also supports and enables interlibrary loan. From interlibrary loan software to interlibrary loan delivery, there have been a number of changes to how resource-sharing has been managed this past year. In this session, Public Library Services Branch will describe these recent changes and how they affect and support public libraries in Alberta, including the new interlibrary loan software (Relais) and the new model for delivery of physical materials.
