Keynote Address: Issues Impacting Representations of Native Peoples in Today's Libraries
A Talk by Dr. Debbie Reese (Founder, American Indians in Children's Literature, Nambé Pueblo Scholar and Educator)
About this Talk
Libraries in North America are guided by values like intellectual freedom and diversity that may, in practice, be difficult to reconcile. In her keynote address, Reese will share her thoughts on librarianship at a time of tremendous societal change.
Dr. Reese will be introduced by Colette Poitras, Chair of the Indigenous Picture Book Selection Committee for IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) and proud citizen of the Métis Nation of Alberta.
