About this Speaker

Dr. Heidi LM Jacobs is a Digital Scholarship Librarian at the University of Windsor and the author of several books, including the Stephen Leacock Award-winning novel Molly of the Mall: Literary Lass and the Purveyor of Fine Footwear (NeWest Press, 2019). She has two books about baseball: One Hundred Miles of Baseball: Fifty Games, One Summer (2021, Biblioasis. Co-written with Dale Jacobs) and 1934: The Chatham Coloured All-Stars’ Barrier-Breaking Year, forthcoming in 2022 from Biblioasis.

She is also part of the research team who developed the award-winning Breaking the Colour Barrier: Wilfred ‘Boomer’ Harding and the Chatham Coloured All-Stars (1934- 1939) project as well as the co-executive producer on the film The North Was Our Canaan and the companion web resource: Exploring Sandwich Town’s Underground Railroad History. Originally from Edmonton, she now lives in Windsor, Ontario.
