About this Speaker

My name is Jenn Steinbrecker and I'm the assistant director and interlibrary loans technician for the Hanna Municipal Library.

I'm a born and raised Hanna AB girl, who was blessed enough to spend many hours on my grandparents farm, giving me a well rounded outlook on the world and hard work.

After graduation, my wings took me to several new towns/cities, and brought me three wonderful children. Having a child diagnosed with ASD, I spent the later part of my 20's perusing education and training in ABA therapy.

As life goes, things change and I had the opportunity to move my children and myself back to my lively home town in 2018, and was able to rejoin the library team in the fall of 2018. Since my move home, I've had to learn how to change light fixtures (not just the bulb) relight pilot lights on the hot water tank, trouble shoot a furnace blowing cold air and become master at changing tubes on a bike tire. Most of all, I've been lucky enough to find my place, friends and love.

Community involvement has always been something I've felt very passionate about, and try to make our library feel like a place that is inclusive to all. I truly believe that sometimes a conversation on when the combines will leave the Quonset, a good laugh over a bad book or helping a parent navigate the school system is just as important to an individual as a healthy meal.

In my spare time I can be found take nature walks to gather plants and herbs, painting, working on my burban, organizing group learning opportunities, dancing around my kitchen or trying harness a new skill.
